      Auto-parts supplier Metaldyne Corp. today closed the court-supervised sale of most of its assets to a group of investors.

    +Toyota to ramp up Tundra production in February
      Toyota Motor Corp. said today it plans to resume a second shift at its San Antonio, Texas, plant in February for the first time since August 2008, adding production of Tundra full-size pickup trucks.

      General Motors Co. will boost its retail U.S. market share in October on the strength of new vehicles and increased ad spending, Edmunds.com says. GM will claim 22.4 percent of sales to individual U.S. customers, up from 19.

    +GM to sign deal to sell Opel early next week, report says
      General Motors Co. will sign a deal to sell a majority stake in Opel next Tuesday or Wednesday, Die Welt German newspaper reported. GM is selling 55 percent of Opel to Canadian supplier Magna International Inc.

    +BMW signs new pact with telematics supplier ATX
      ATX, a Dallas telematics company, has signed a new, multi-year contract to provide connectivity to BMW AG's North American vehicles. BMW has used ATX as its telematics provider since 2001.

    +BMW designer Schaffer to lead U.S. studio
      Laurenz Schaffer, an 11-year veteran of BMW AG's design staff, will take charge of the automaker's studio in California on Dec. 1. He will replace Verena Kloos, 48, as president of DesignworksUSA.

    +GM said to be in talks with SAIC on India deals
      General Motors Co. is in talks with partner SAIC Motor Corp., China's biggest automaker, to explore new business opportunities that include India, a source with knowledge of the matter said on Friday.
