If you want a page done on Mahalo and we don't have it just do a blog post/twitter/whatever with the word "MahaloToDo" (alll one word) and we'll find it and do it (if it's a reasonable term). This should be fun... I'm interested to see how many requests we get and if we can keep up with them in real time!NOTE: Make sure it's one word MahaloToDo so we can find it on Technorati/Google Blog serch/Google Alerts/Bloglines Blog search/etc.{ Photo by ebby }UPDATE!First person to ask for a page is Michael BaileyHis page is being built in real time right now: http://www.mahalo.com/Audio_and_Video_Commenting_SystemSecond person to ask for a page is ????????Permalink | Email this | Linking Blogs | Comments
My guess was that 1-3k folks would watch each of the first five Mahalo Daily shows (trailer + first four), but I'm thrilled to report that Mahalo Daily broke 100k views already!Blip.TV is showing over 100k views for the Flash player alone. With the number of downloads, Facebook views, and YouTube views that number has to be well over 125/150k. Couple thousand folks have signed up for the RSS feed already. You can find us on iTunes here, and subscribe on iTunes here. Amazing! My hope is that Mahalo Daily can get to 100k views per show (looks like we're 12-37% there so far.. perhaps these shows will get to 50-75k views each over the coming weeks). That would be amazing... anyone have tips on how to get the show to 100k views a day quickly (besides making a great show)? I'm sure it will get their organically, but we're open to partnerships if someone can get us to100k views per show today. Congrats to Veronica Belmont on an AMAZING job working really hard to make these shows epic and for Tyler's amazing work as executive producer. The two of you put in three months of hard work and it really shows... I couldn't be happier with the product and the performance!UPDATE: Folks have been answering the question on LinkedIn with some great answers!Permalink | Email this | Linking Blogs | Comments

Facebook ads are kind of cool, however I wonder what kind of click-through rate this car insurance ad (which hardly looks like an advertisement) will get when it's competing with the 50+ other links from my friends all around it. Permalink | Email this | Linking Blogs | Comments
I just got this question by email: I am working on an internal presentation to our sales force on new media tools for PR - digg, delicious, twitter and was considering adding in Wikipedia. This lead me to wonder how a PR person could use Mahalo to promote their cause. My response: There are two things you can do:1. Request a page be created.2. Suggest quality links to Mahalo search results. If you look at Mahalo's iphone page you'll see a lot of folks suggesting links, and you'll see us respond to them.More here.Since we're human edited the good sites will get in and the bad sites will not. So, if you submit high-quality links that are BETTER than the links currently listed on a search result you should be able to get listed quickly (2-3 days). If you submit something that is lame/spam/not as good as the other links you will not get listed. It's very fair considering the fact that it's done by humans. :-)best jPermalink | Email this | Linking Blogs | Comments
A lot of folks have asked me how they can get a page made for their company, product, service, or themselves in Mahalo. Here's a little tip: request it!When you type in a search at Mahalo and we don't have it we say: "Notify me when Mahalo creates a result page for "grey wolf"If you click on the Notify me link a box opens (see image below) asking you for your email. If three to five folks request a page it goes right to the top of the "to do" list for Mahalo Guides. Here's what the page looks like for Mahalo Guides (note: many of these pages are already done, this list includes all requested pages even if we've done them and is just one snap shot in time. As you can see the Guides can create the page with one click and see who requested it, so use real email addresses for best results). Permalink | Email this | Linking Blogs | Comments

Our video game team has slept very little in the 48 hours since Call of Duty 4 came out. It turns out in the game there are a bunch of hidden "Enemy Intels" which are hard to find. So, the very dedicated Mahalo Game team setup a recorder and made these very cool videos to make it easy to find them. We're having fun mixing a little editorial into the search results, with the ultimate goal of helping users (the mission statement/tag line of Mahalo.com is: "we're here to help"). Now, some folks are saying, are you guys a content company or a search company... that's a great question. I'll let you know when we figure it out. :-) Permalink | Email this | Linking Blogs | Comments
