It's been quite some time since I've been involved in a proper first 10 minutes of game, so when our frend Bombstrike came by with Operation Flashpoint 2 in his bag there was no way I wasn't going to ask him to record some footage for us. There it is, with his quick impression being that it was a potentially great game, ruined in part by the allies IA being utterly bad.
The Subaru Impreza is in the spotlight today with the STI 05 model doing a full lap of the complete Montserrat track at 60 fps, and the race tuned one doing a rather spectacular full lap of the complete Fujimi Kaido track also at 60 fps, followed by the full replay.
Here comes the second developer diary of Just Cause 2, detailing a bit more something that's utterly important for such a huge game: The island of Panau itself.
Ubisoft released this tutorial video of Red Steel 2 focusing on the enhanced controls granted by the Wii Motion Plus. Since the first game was blamed for being unplayable, it is definitely good news to see that they have worked a lot in that area to offer the best possible experience to the player.
Bioware released another trailer of Dragon Age: Origins so the hype can go on. Today we are introduced to a particularly gross creature by the name of Blood Mother.
As you could have guessed knowing my obsession with racing games, we have a lot more videos of Forza Motorsport 3 coming until the games's release in 2 weeks. Today you guys will feast your eyes on a full replay of a lap around Rally di Positano in a Fiat 500, some Drag Racing that I don't think I'll ever understand and a full lap around the Nürburgring in 2 parts, where I removed a few rewinds without trying to be too stealthy :)
Rockstar trusts the headlines this week. After the dancing trailers of Liberty City Stories and Chinatown Wars on the PSP, it's Red Dead Redemption's turn to run the show. Unfortunately not in video, but we'll be fine for now.
DjMizuhara once again proves how utterly mad he is by uploading 2 videos weighing nothing less than 1 GB each of the PS3 demo of Bayonetta. I guess the stream might be a good idea on these.Update: As a way to prove that I'm at least as crazy as DjMizuhara I've captured and encoded a 60 fps video of the 360 demo exclusive sequence "Falling Clock Tower", weighing a tad less than 1 GB too.Update: I've been asked to record another 60 fps video of the 360 demo showing some of the stuff already captured by the DjMizuhara.
Here comes out first series of videos from Forza Motorsport 3, to be released in just a tad more than 2 weeks in Europe, and just a few days later in the US. This series is all about point to point races, duels where you have to be the first going from one point to another of one of the longer tracks of the game. Of course these are all running at 60 fps, with all the driving aids except ABS disabled.
Rockstar proves once again that they are up there with the masters of the ancient art of trailers with this new video of the upcoming DLC of Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories, The Ballad of Gay Tony.
Flashes in the dark, a cloud of bullets in slow motion. The face of a hidden enemy, the silhouette of a hero transformed beyond recognition. This is, in essence, the content of the teaser of Max Payne 3 which emerged a few minutes ago on the net. We can't see anything, we don't learn anything. Worse, the release date at the end of the video is incorrect, the game has been postponed to next year in the meantime. Perhaps we were not supposed to see this clip. We wouldn't have missed much.
It's the heartbreaking news of the week. Sega announces the presence of Ryo Hazuki, hero of the unforgettable Shenmue series, in the roster of his fantasy racing game Sonic Sega All Stars Racing. He'll be available riding his motorcycle or... a forklift. Now this is plain cruel. We've all been expecting the return of Ryo since the tragic death of Yu Suzuki's series in 2001. But not like this !
Forza Motorsport 3, D-15. Time to mark the end of an hyperactive campaign that has effectively gathered major attention for several months. Accordingly to the tradition, Microsoft and Turn10 deliver a flawless launch trailer which synthesizes the game's mass of features, illustrated by finely selected gameplay footage. And concludes with a slogan that, inevitably, rubs Gran Turismo. Has it ever been about something else anyway ?
