French game developer Quantic Dream has never made secret its ambitions to bring true narrative meaning to video games. 2005's intriguing Indigo Prophecy (a.k.a. Fahrenheit) expressed the direction that the studio wanted to take, and with the upcoming PlayStation 3 exclusive Heavy Rain, the studio hopes to take its philosophy on narrative and video games even further.Guillaume de Fondaumiere, co-CEO of the studio, told Gamasutra what he hoped Quantic Dream would accomplish with Heavy Rain. "I think that the most important goal for us is to show that video games can be more than just shooting, driving -- that games can be meaningful," he said.
Capcom Europe has today revealed that two classic franchises will arrive on the current-generation of home consoles in Europe early next year. Both Final Fight and Magic Sword will have new remake instalments made available for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 via Xbox LIVE Arcade and PlayStation Network respectively.

One of the biggest and most mysterious PS3 titles has been Heavy Rain. After being unveiled around the time of the PS3s introduction, the title vanished for several years never to been seen again until just this past year. With the sudden surge of new information also came a surge of hype. Utilizing new concepts of character interaction, Heavy Rain is going for something totally unique and the release date of the title is sooner than one expected.
Ubisoft has started the R.U.S.E beta by sending out beta keys to V.I.Ps. Be sure to check out your email inbox if you signed up for the beta. The actual game should be released sometime in 2010, there has been no confirmation so far of an actual date.
