The planet Alderaan is well known among Star Wars fans, and now developer BioWare has unveiled its presence in Star Wars The Old Republic.Before the Death Star went 'pew pew' on it, Alderaan was a haven for democracy and Greenpeace protesters, "a vision of utopia" they say.
According to the Chinese notes of ex-Silicon Knights artist, Zhang Shao-yong, his previous work includes "Too Human, and The Box (Xbox and PS3)," on which he helped shape visual effects for "explosions, smoke, water, fire, weather and so on."
It looks like Square Enix has finally, and quietly, pulled the plug on the PlayStation 3 version of Last Remnant. The latest issue of the company's "Square Enix Magazine" retail promotional magazine does not list the title in its upcoming releases calendar.The issue in question is vol.13, which features Final Fantasy XIII on the cover. A release calendar in the back of the issue lists titles of note from the company and its publishing/distribution partners (Ubisoft, Disney, and Taito). Last Remnant 2 is not listed in the date TBA area, which includes such games as The Third Birthday, NieR Gestalt/Remnant, and Front Mission Evolved.

Frogster Interactive is running a fund-raising promotion in collaboration with the children's rights organisation 'Save the Children Deutschland e.V.' in their free-to-play Massively Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Game (MMORPG), Runes of Magic. The publisher has announced that approximately 11,000 Euros have already come in for children in adversity.

Among the myriad details of all the goodness jam packed into patch 1.1.4, the Veil of Darkness, players' max level is now 65, better equipping them to take on the 40+ new quests -- including new epic monster quests and dungeons. The pet system has now been incorporated, allowing players to complete quests to pick up friendly pets at level 20, 30, and 40. There are some really excellent additions to the shop too with new vanity items, items to expand bag space for the MMO pack-rats, and a recall card that allows players to save their location on the field map -- definitely a welcome option.
The N900, Nokia's new smartphone, was recently released in the US and is already causing problems, namely through a video posted via the Nokia blog. Said video shows Apps for the smartphone, which enable you to play classic Nintendo games with an emulator. "There's already a bunch of great retro gaming emulator apps available for you to download" is one of the video's captions, while Super Mario World is being played on the N900. The author's description adds that some emulators require additional ROMs to be downloadad, which "most publishers allow, provided that the user is in possession of the original title."According to Nintendo UK PR Manager Robert Saunders, Nintendo was unaware of Nokia's actions, but will investigate this topic, to see if copyright infringement has taken place.The youtube-video can be found in the source.
