He never takes a practice swing once he steps into the batter's box.He saves all those meaty cuts for when he needs them.Matsui did all sorts of damage Wednesday night, setting a record with six RBIs in a World Series clincher and leading the New York Yankees over the Philadelphia Phillies 7-3 Wednesday night.His performance won Game 6 - and clinched the MVP trophy.

    +Colts lose starting LB Hagler for rest of season
      The unbeaten Indianapolis Colts have lost starting linebacker Tyjuan Hagler for the rest of the season with a ruptured biceps.Coach Jim Caldwell said Hagler was placed on injured reserve Wednesday.Second-year linebacker Philip Wheeler and undrafted rookie Ramon Humber are expected to replace Hagler. Indy also will promote rookie linebacker Cody Glenn to the active roster from the practice squad.Hagler was fourth on the Colts with 36 tackles.

      Making the first of two trips to China this month, Nick Watney made an immediate impression Thursday in the HSBC Champions by tying the course record with an 8-under 64 to build a two-shot lead.As hundreds of cameras inside and outside the ropes tagged along to see Tiger Woods open with a 67, Watney quietly went about his business on a sunny afternoon at Sheshan International Golf Club with an accidental eagle and four straight birdies.
