Regardless of records, regardless of who won the 2009 World Series the Phillies may just be the best team in baseball. The may have the best lineup in the MLB, and they are unafraid to go out and make moves that have the potential to make this team that much better. In 2009 they made a strong mid season trade to acquire Cliff Lee and he helped them make it all the way back to the World Series, before losing to the New York Yankees. Now the Phillies will tweak their roster and head into 2010 as the favorites to once again win the National League.

    +Steelers lose to their rivals, complete terrible week
      On nights like tonight football fans everywhere have to give big props to one Art Modell. Even in Cleveland, where Modell is though to be the devil. However, if were not for Modell we would not have the great rivalry that is the Pittsburgh Steelers and Cleveland Browns. Back when the AFL and the NFL merged Modell convinced the Rooney family to switch to the AFC with Cleveland so that both teams could battle with Paul Brown's Cincinnati Bengals. Later when Modell moved his Browns to Baltimore the AFC North got his fourth team. From football team all over thanks Art for great games like the one we saw tonight.

      Notre Dame is betting Brian Kelly is the man who can finally winit all for the Irish.Two people confirmed to The Associated Press on Thursday that the Cincinnati coach and Notre Dame had reached a deal for Kelly to replace Charlie Weis.

    +Ochocinco fined 30k for touchdown celebration
      After scoring a TD against the Detroit Lions last Sunday, Chad Ochocinco headed to the bench where he dawned a poncho and a sombrero in what was he latest attempts to be funny, be the star, or whatever other need drivers this man to do the things that he does. The NFL on Wednesday fined Chad 30 grand for the incident. The 30k number was 10k more than the NF fined him earlier this year when Chad faked bribing an official in another of his now infamous TD celebrations.

    +Texas Rangers trade for Ray, sign Harden
      While teams like the Detroit Tigers are spending the annual Winter Meetings to moving around salary and making blockbuster Trades, the Texas Rangers, a team with their own financial problems, as gone about tweaking their own the field product somewhat under the radar. On Wednesday The Rangers traded their ace, pitcher Kevin Millwood to the Baltimore Orioles for reliever Chris Ray. They are now using the money they saved from Millwood's contract to extend an offer to pitcher Rich Harden. Both moves are upgrades for the Rangers, who were on the verge of making the playoffs in 2009.

      Matt Lindstrom had a 1-2 mark with 15 saves last season. The Florida Marlins have traded hard-throwing reliever Matt Lindstrom to the Houston Astros.

    +Stafford to sit, Culpepper to start versus the Ravens
      On one hand Detroit Lions fans will be happy that Rookie QB Matthew Stafford will sit, and not have to face the Baltimore Ravens defense. On the other hand it seems that many Lions fans are upset that Daunte Culpepper will get the start over QB Drew Stanton.
