+Pacquiao answers Mayweather: ready to fight former champ
Responding to Floyd Mayweather, Jr.'s statements earlier this week, seven-time world champion Manny Pacquiao says that "for the record" he wants to fight the undefeated former pound-for-pound king.

+Predators' 2 PP goals help beat Sharks 4-3
Joel Ward and David Legwand each had a goal and two assists, and the Nashville Predators beat the San Jose Sharks 4-3 Tuesday night for their third straight win and seventh in nine games.

+NFL is a TV monster, leading all at midseason
While some teams are struggling to sell out games, and many games have been blacked out in the local markets this NFL season, the TV ratings are through the roof and since the NFL shares its TV revenue with all 32 team equally that is good news for all.

+Dick Jauron Fired As Bills Coach
Defensive coordinator Perry Fewell will be the Buffalo Bills' interim head coach, replacing the fired Dick Jauron.

+Buffalo Bills fire their Head Coach
The Buffalo Bills became the first NFL team to fire their Head Coach in 2009 today when they fired Dick Jauron. To say that the 2009 campaign has been a disappointment isa vast understatement. Finishing 7-9 for the past three years, added to what looked like a decent 2009 draft, on top of the signing of receiver Terrell Owens, Bills fans were looking for something more than a 3-6 start. In fact many NFL pundits had The Bills on a list of teams on the cusp of making a playoff run. Instead they have failed to make T.O. a part of their offensive attack, and it looks like they will have to undertake a massive rebuilding effort.

    +Samba extends Ewood stay
Blackburn defender Christopher Samba has committed his long-term future to the club.

    +Lowell/EGR rivalry: healthy competition
The Lowell and East Grand Rapids football teams have traveled the road to the state playoffs many times.

    +Ravens blank hapless Browns
For 30 minutes, the Baltimore Ravens were inefficient, unproductive and disorganized.

+Pretty Tough | Olympic hopeful Kate Hansen gets spot on US luge team for World Cup opener
Socal teen Kate Hansen clinched a spot on the USA Luge national team for the first two World Cup races Sunday, giving the 17-year-old a chance at making the Olympics.

    +NCAA Division 1 Women's Soccer- Round 2 Results, Sweet 16 predictions
The second round of the NCAA tournament was played this weekend, with maybe three upsets in between, but one HUGE upset. Here are the results:

+2009 MLB season in review: St. Louis Cardinals
After covering the 22 teams that did not make the playoffs, it is nice to start to take a look at the eight teams that did make the MLB playoffs and can consider themselves somewhat successful. For the St. Louis Cardinals their regular season was certainly a success and they kin of snuck up on everyone by winning the National League Central when most baseball pundits were more focused on the Chicago Cubs. At the trade deadline they added OF Matt Holliday, and while they eventually lost in the opening round of the playoffs, at least they made a run at another title.

    +Heroic Filipino: Pacquiao's impossible feat
"It's not the size of the Pacman in the fight, it's the size of the fight in the Pacman." Thanks to Manny Pacquiao, from the rich and wealthy; to the poor and forgotten - to the maids, janitors, cooks, to the street vendors, to the jeepney drivers, to the homeless, to the peddlers, to those who must bear stereotypes in a foreign land, to the ...

+Pathetic Lions turn in another pathetic performance
Heading into the game between the Detroit Lions and the Minnesota Vikings no one expected the Lions to win. Heading into other game the Lions had lost 16 road games in a row, has only won one game in their last 25, and are on a steak of losing 31 of their last 33 NFL contests. However facing an unfocused Minnesota team, that in no way took their opponents serious, the Lions were able to hang around for awhile instead of getting totally blown out. In the end the Lions lost by 17, but they showed why they are without a doubt the worst team in the NFL.

+Pinellas native Coghlan is NL Rookie of Year, Bailey wins AL award
Florida Marlins outfielder Chris Coghlan is the National League Rookie of the Year, and Oakland Athletics closer Andrew Bailey is the AL winner.
