+Horns Put the Hex on the Aggies
Hundreds of students, alumni and Longhorn fans gathered on UT campus Monday night to put a hex on the Aggies in order to assure victory over A&M on Thursday night.

+Late field goal by Rob Bironas gives Titans 20-17 victory over Texans
Rob Bironas kicked a 53-yard field goal with less than a minute remaining and the Tennessee Titans beat the Houston Texans 20-17 Monday night for their fourth straight victory after an 0-6 start.

+2009 MLB season in review: Boston Red Sox
Sure the Boston Red Sox made the post season, but in a town who has won two recent World Titles that simply is not good enough, and their exit at the hands of the Los Angeles Angels is one that is going to leave a sour taste in the mouth of Red Sox nation. Getting swept out of the first round of the playoffs tends to make a fan base sick, but this loss is one that seemed avoidable. Not once, not twice, but three times their, All Star Closer Jonathan Papplebon had two outs and two strikes on Angels' hitters and yet they all reached a base, and the Red Sox season came to an end. However at the very lest 2009 was a successful campaign for the Red Sox.

+2009 UFL season in review: New York Sentinels
What can one say about a football team that doesn't win a single game? The first thing that we could say is that if it were not for the Detroit Lions 0-16 campaign last year that they were the worst professional football team ever, however it seems the Detroit Lions will retain that tile for a while. This winless campaign is more a league problem than an individual team problem, the UFL features two really good teams, and two pretty bad teams. While the California Redwoods where able to make numerous roster changes to help their cause, the Sentinels were unable to do just that , and suffered a long list of injuries.

+Romo injures his back in game versus the Redskins
This could be very bad news for the NFC East leading Dallas Cowboys. Yesterday QB Tony Romo injured his back in a game versus the Washington Redskins. He injured his back throwing himself into Redskins CB DeAngelo Hall who was running back a fumble. While the tackle likely saved a TD, he took a knee to the back, and was struggling visibly throughout the rest of the game.

    +Near-unanimous pick
Joe Mauer sat behind a table on a podium in a conference room at the Metrodome when Justin Morneau shouted out the last question of the day.

+Lions struggle to beat the Browns-The positives
There is a lot of ways to look at two 1-8 teams squaring off against one another. For the Detroit Lions there is a positive way, and a negative way to look at a 38-37 win over the Cleveland Browns. For today let us look at the positive side of things. In today's NFL a win is a win, and no matter how we look at it, or what we think about it the Lions won this game. However this victory is more significant because it could save the Lions some money in next year's draft. With their second win of the 2009 season they have effectively insured that they will not end up as the worst NFL team, and will not receive the overall number one draft pick in next year's draft.

+Bickell scores 1st goal of season, Niemi stops 30 shots in Blackhawks' 1-0 win over Canucks
Bryan Bickell scored his first goal of the season 1:12 into the third period, and Antii Niemi made 30 saves to lead the Chicago Blackhawks to a 1-0 victory over the Vancouver Canucks on Sunday night.

+Real Salt Lake beats LA to win MLS Cup
The image most expected of David Beckham and Landon Donovan holding the championship of Major League Soccer for the league's marquee franchise will wait.

+UT Ends Home Slate With Special Win
John Hygh tells us about the win, and a new college football record for Colt McCoy.

    +Bears suffer another close loss
Bears quarterback Jay Cutler reacts in the third quarter Sunday during the Bears' 24-20 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles at Solider Field.

+Johnson wins record 4th straight NASCAR championship
All Jimmie Johnson ever wanted was a chance to race with the best in NASCAR. Maybe even win a race or two.

+Holmgren interested in Cleveland Browns Job
Mike Holmgren has expressed interest in talking with Cleveland Browns owner Randy Lerner about a job with the struggling Cleveland Browns. It is not known at this team if this is to be just the General Manager, the GM and the Head Football Coach, or to be the football guru this club so desperately needs.

    +Murray makes ideal start
Andy Murray made home advantage count as he edged a topsy-turvy clash with US Open champion Juan Martin del Potro 6-3 3-6 6-2 in the opening singles match of the Barclays ATP World Tour Finals at London's O2 Arena.
